Ghareeb is a series about three generations of women: Mariam and her two daughters, Mya and Aya. After personal rifts for the characters create tension for the family as a whole, they are brought closer to each other and to roots that they feel all but estranged from. Ghareeb is a story about intergenerationally cultural connections and divides in a first-generation Arab-American matriarchy.
Ghareeb Miniseries Creative Production
As pre-production creative producer, I set the ground work for the production of the Ghareeb miniseries, distributed by Open Television Network (OTV). To reach amateur and professional actors, we strategized and sent out the casting call via ClubHouse, Instagram and online film groups. The initial phases of the project also required script review, character and story development, and grant writing.
